The Pains and Averages of Being A Small Town Filmmaker
Here's my explanation of my pains and averages of being a filmmaker in a little tiny town. In other words, here's how it is harder to find people who get filmmaking in somewhere like a small midwest or southeast town than it is somewhere say Telluride or Las Vegas. Pains: You see, I grew up and still live in Kentucky, where most people are busy with parenting and marriage and interested in sports and country stuff. Nobody I went to school with would get my love for filmmaking and animation because they have no past experiences with that. Averages: I do have limited resources for filmmaking (My 8-year-old chromebook, a leftover DSLR, a tripod and an Onn. microphone) and film distribution (Submitting to film festivals and YouTube), but I also have a big imagination. My cast members are usually me, my mom and her co-workers, though I do dream of hiring a pro actor or two one day.
